Acupuncture is one of the oldest methods of healing in the world.  It originated in China several thousand years ago, spreading through Asia before moving through Europe and the Americas.  Its goal is to establish a smooth flow of qi throughout the body.  Acupuncture accomplishes this by inserting hair-thin needles into specific points on the body.

In Five Element Acupuncture, we work with the three levels of energy:  body, mind and spirit, and the five elements of nature:  wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.  All of these levels, and elements of nature need to be balanced and free flowing to achieve total health.

This holistic healing is often combined with Chinese herbs, Medical Qigong, or both based on each individual's needs.  As a part of these treatments, we provide personalized education to each client.  This allows the individual to become empowered and active in their own healing process.  We are committed to working with you to determine the best course of treatment for you and your needs.

Each treatment is tailored to your personalized needs.  Therefore, the number and location of needles, and frequency and duration of sessions are based upon the client's condition.

What to Expect in an Acupuncture Session

The initial visit lasts approximately 2 hours.  During this session, information is gathered regarding your health history; a Chinese medicine physical exam is conducted; and an acupuncture treatment is provided.

Subsequent acupuncture treatments last approximately 1  hour.  These subsequent visits continue to address your specific concerns and goals.

Some clients can experience dramatic results after the first treatment.  Others notice a more gradual improvement to their overall well-being over time.
